ANDREA PASTORE ART PROJECT
RAINHART PROMOTES ALL OVER EUROPE LEADING LATIN AMERICAN ARTISTS AND DISCOVERS FUTURE TALENTS
After many stays in Cuba and her country of origin, Brazil, she realized that the art of Latin America was appreciated and much in demand in the USA but not in Europe where Andrea has been living since she was a teenager.
In the year 2011-2012, in collaboration with BNP Paribas Fortis, she organized Cuban exhibitions at several branches in Brussels, with a mix of established artists along with new talent, this being a way to give talented new artists a chance to have their art seen for the first time outsideCuba.
Because of the large demand of the Brussels public, Andréa rented a space in the Ixelles area, Rue Washington 90, and started to create exhibitions with the support and collaboration of established curators from Latin America, In 2013, to mention just one of the several activities in this space, there was a successful exhibition of drawings from Cuba and Brazil, curated by Ibis Hernandez who is one of the official curators and head of the Havana Biennal. In 2014 the space showcased a very remarkable exhibition in collaboration with the MAMAM, which is the Andréa Pastore began the Rainhart project in 2011 in Brussels. It started with a simple desire to be a bridge for art between the Latin American Continent and Europe.
Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Recife, a city in the northeast of Brazil.
Rainhart undertook several art projects involving commercial institutions like art fairs (Pinta London, London Art Fair, Brussels Art Fair, Art Fair in Knokke and Art on Paper in Brussels), and also many projects with institutions such as the Brazilian embassy, Mamam and Gallery Havana in Cuba, but Rainhart’s focus was always to present trends in the art of Latin America in Europe, and the mission of Rainhart was to give young new talent a chance to have their artwork seen in Europe.
Nowadays Rainhart operates very actively in France, having just organized the first auction of Cuban art in Europe, which took place in February in Paris in collaboration with the French auction house Cornette de Saint Cyr. The aim of this auction was to awaken European collectors to the potential of the Cuban art market which has a very strong and knowledgeable public in NY and Miami. Rainhart’s mission was fulfilled with many visitors coming to the auction’s preview week and the sale of half the catalogue in a completely new market for Modern and Contemporary Cuban art.
We are in our 7th year of work which has so far required from us passion, emotional engagement with the artists, and the trust of institutions and the European public. We want to continue this mission of sharing the beauty, life, issues, dreams, and hopes of the passionate continent of Latin America.
We count on you as individual citizens and part of the European public to follow us and also to contact us with your suggestions, in order to keep our work going and to support us as a strong bridge between the 2 continents. Don’t forget that through your support, you the public enable us to give so many young talents the opportunity to start changing their lives. Follow us on our fb page and send us your suggestions.
